My guess is that this is directly attributed to sharebar, but when a reader/user cut and pastes a blog post's URL into Facebook to share a story-- they are now getting all code, which I guess is the sharebar code.

    Check out this post-- http://smartblogs.com/socialmedia/2010/08/24/tuning-in-5-ways-to-spotlight-your-audience-and-extend-your-reach/

And drop it into facebook-- just with the status. Is this an issue that you can rectify somehow or does it just come with the territory

Same thing happens when you use Facebook share from the bar itself. Is there a workaround here?

It may be a strange interaction between the Facebook code and the Twitter button code - have you tried rearranging the buttons to see if that changes things? It's a long shot but worth trying.

Edit: Actually as I looked through your Source code, the current Facebook button you have now is working fine - it's pulling the description from the header of your file in the OG tag, which on the example page is as follows:

    <meta property="og:description" content="Tweet

    Email
    Tweet

    Email

    Print Friendly
